has anyone claimed their free windows 10 upgrade?

If I was on the horrible windows 8 I would upgrade in a hurry, but seeing that I'm on 7 I might wait a while before I upgrade, as there is a year to claim the upgrade for free. Any of you upgraded yet?

They will let you download the iso for free, if you have a little more time and have all you data backed up, starting from a clean copy worked very well for me on one of my machines. Dual booting it with Ubuntu.
You just need to know your windows key which is somewhat harder than it might seem these days.

if anyone has WIndos 8, 8.1 or 10, but wants their menus to look ad feel like Windows 7 (or XP, if you are some sort of masochist), then Classic Shell is the way to go:

I upgraded Monday night and went back to Windows 7 last night. Both processes are a doddle.
I really liked the look of Windows 10, to my simple eyes it looked like a the best bits of 8.1 and 7 together.
However my mouse touchpad was stuttery and sometimes didn't respond at all and by battery life HALVED! Not good.

Yep, took about an hour and a half to do, all working fine, quite like it to be honest (8.1>10 for me)

I've upgraded from 7. I've not had a moment's trouble with it, full marks so far.

I'm on 7. It works fine.
I will not be upgrading so that I pull my hair out identifying bugs for Microsoft.

I've been on 7 until last week I bought a new laptop. As mentioned, I haven't felt the need to because 8.1 is not as drastically poor as 8. I'm rather enjoying the challenge, but 10 does look pretty neat. Haven't checked the spec requirements though and considering I've only got a 4gb ram I'm not so sure whether to go for 10 yet.

I haven't, but windows 8.1 is fine if you use one of the apps that give you a start bar and hide all the 'Modern' interface. My laptop is just like using win 7 but with touchscreen.

I've done all the house pc's and laptops but my son had real issues with his...he had to revert back. Wouldnt detect the wifi and was slow as christmas.

The laptop I bought six months ago I wouldn't use because it had windows 8
Now I've upgraded to 10 I'm happily using it
Ive got another one that is running really slow on windows 7 - I might upgrade that one as well but it doesn't have a touch screen
